Our 26-foot Campion 682 Explorer fishing charter boat is berthed in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, off the west coast of British Columbia. Port Alberni is less than an hour drive from the two B.C. ferries connecting central Vancouver Island to the mainland and approximately one hour drive from the Nanaimo airport.

From Port Alberni, we take you fishing up to 30 miles offshore in Barkley Sound, which offers some of the best salmon and halibut fishing off the west coast of Vancouver Island. Our favourite areas to fish include Hakai Pass and off Bamfield.

Bamfield

Bamfield is located on the west coast on the South Side of Barkley Sound. This quiet resort town has a population of about 200 and is well known for world class fishing and kayaking. Reel Tight is able to offer you accommodation, including meals, in the charming seaside community of Bamfield for only $135 per person per night.

Broken Group Islands

The Broken Group Island Unit is made up of over 100 islands, islets and outcrops in the center of Barkley Sound. The islands are a a well known destination for nature lovers, kayakers and boaters alike and a must-see for anyone visiting the Pacific Coast.

Alberni Inlet

The Alberni Inlet is a long narrow channel that leads from Port Alberni to Barkley Sound. Port Alberni is fast becoming a tourist hub for the Island's West coast - created by it's proximity to the travel hubs of Nanaimo and Comox, and easy boat access to the West Coast and Pacific Rim.

Other points of interest within driving distance are the West Coast Trail, Sproat lake, Cathedral Grove, the Horne Lake Caves and Cameron Lake.
